Coming to America

Sadie will set foot on American soil for the very first time this week. We will fly to Chicago to visit Nani and Papi before heading to Minnesota to see Grandma, Grandpa and lots of other friends. Sadie helped get our luggage ready for the long trip:

Its only a 25 hour trip so we requested middle seats in Coach - hopefully it will all work out. If we have time during our trip, we are going to try to see Sadie's favorite band, Sexual Chocolate.

Happy Birthday, Sadie!

Sadie turned 9 months old on December 20, 2009. We tried to celebrate with our customary picture with her friend George, but she had other ideas in mind. Round 1 went to Sadie:

...but George quickly got his second wind and got back in the duel:

We called it a draw but had all worked up quite an appetite so we wrapped up with a Birthday Cookie:

Sadie's New Tricks

Sadie is a crawling machine these days - she favors the stomach down, stealth approach as she sneaks up on her toys. She prefers to stand, though, as shown in this post-bath photo:

...and in her crib:

Her other new trick is to pull herself up on pretty much anything that she can reach - tables, her crib, Mom, etc. Here she is in action:

She also continues to expand her sophisticated taste buds, as we recently added tofu to the menu:

Down Under

Adam recently returned from a business trip to Australia. It was nice to finally visit the country that Lisa talks so much about from her days studying at Macquarie University. During some free time, he was able to see the famous Sydney Opera House:

Oh Canada....

We tried on Sadie's Canada hat the other night. She wanted it off so badly she yanked it over her face instead of off her head.

We are trying to figure out if she was displeased by the fact that she was advertising Canada or just not a fan of hats. What do you think Grandpa?

Either way we are guessing she's not going to be a fan of winter like her mom and dad......

Yummy....

Sadie is trying out more table food these days.
She had her first Cheerios & pasta last week.

She loves bread/bagels and is not a fan of beans.
Guess she's a carb lover like her mama.

My Daddy's Gone Again!

My Daddy works so hard for me. He's now in Australia, but only for 5 days. That is much easier than the 14 he did all over Asia last month.

I still miss him though. Hmmm, I wonder if he'd catch this soccer ball if I tried to roll it to him. Love you Daddy....
