Pretty in Pink
Sadie is 4 Months Old!
Sadie celebrated her 4 Month birthday on July 20, 2009.
Her first present was a set of vaccinations at the pediatrician. She was a trooper, though, and only cried for a little bit. Overall, the appointment was a success and Sadie checked in at 5.4 kg (11.88 pounds) and 58 cm (23.8 inches). George helped us show her growth in this picture:
We then shared with her a story about the place where Mommy and Daddy used to live:
We capped off the day with our traditional dessert and snapped a picture right before she blew out the candle and we tucked her in for a good night's sleep:

Dadurday
Today was "Dadurday" - a Saturday when Sadie and Daddy got to hang out all day. Since Mommy does such a great job taking care of her the rest of the week, it was my turn to change all of the diapers and make sure the nap and feeding schedule was maintained.
We first played under her gym and read a new book about the Chicago Cubs winning a baseball game. She asked if it was from the fiction section, so I had to gently explain to her that the expression "Wait till next year" actually refers to 2009.
We then took a long walk around town and wrapped things up with a relaxing bath (for her) and a new pair of frilly pajamas (forme her).
Here is a picture of us as we got ready to load up the stroller and head into town:

Supermodel
Sadie is smiling a ton right now and enjoys posing for the camera. Here are some candids of her in a new outfit.
We first told her to give the camera a saucy look as if she just made a huge present in her diaper for Mommy to clean up:
Then she busted out her "Blue Steel" look:
And for her final pose, she reacted as we tried to explain universal health care to her:

Sadie's Turning Tricks!
Uh...this may be a bad title for the post, but we wanted to show off some of Sadie's new talents.
In the first photo, she is channeling Gene Kelly by "Singing in the Rain" with her fun new umbrella that Grandpa sent:
In the video below, Sadie is "talking" and blowing raspberries while she relaxes on the bed with Mommy:

Which Auntie Loves Me?
Today's Interesting Fact
Evidently clean bathrooms are a big initiative throughout the country.
At Adam's office, the bathrooms are cleaned every 2 hours. I'm pretty sure that they also time it so that they are being cleaned at precisely the time that I need to use them. I don't have any proof, but the cleaning ladies were winking at each other when I had to walk an extra 100 yards to go to the other bathroom.
There are many flyers posted to encourage people to keep them clean. Another big issue plaguing the Republic is people who don't dry their hands - this is a problem I see all the time, despite the best efforts of posters such as this one:

Fortunately, I invested in galoshes and always wear my helmet, so wet floors are no longer an issue for me.
